We at Avanza Landscaping & Maintenance stand for expertise, creativity, and between us have decades of experience. We strive to provide sustainable solutions while also providing the highest level of service.
A growing family makes up the team at Avanza Landscaping & Maintenance. Team members from different backgrounds come together to make everything work. Some of these backgrounds include farming, construction, masonry, and even horticultural degrees as well as finance degrees.

On any project that Avanza is working on, you’re definitely going to at least meet Noe or Nardy (possibly both). Although Avanza is a family business, with uncles, fathers, and brothers working on the team, it is Noe and Nardy who put the puzzle pieces together.
Noe was born and raised in Arlington, Virginia, where he graduated from H-B Woodlawn Secondary Program in 2008. He followed up high school by attending George Mason University where he received a scholarship from the Bailey Family Foundation. His studies included a degree in Communication and courses focused on Business Administration.
Nardy was born and raised in Cochabamba, Bolivia. She graduated high school with honors, and as a reward, she was able to come to The United States. Upon arriving, she immediately enrolled in more classes. She is always finding ways to further her development.
Noe and Nardy have a son, Matthew, who you may meet on occasion as well. He loves having a role in Avanza, which is currently, the “fun ambassador”.
Emerson Alfaro
Operations Manager
Emerson currently oversees the crews, handles scheduling, and project management. He grew to be our operations manager starting as a laborer pulling weeds in gardens, then foreman, and now the new position.
Erick Gutierrez
Foreman
Erick leads our mowing crews, and did start as a laborer as well. He is known for his attention to detail and the way he prioritizes quality. He began working in landscaping as a 16 year old, and hasn’t looked back since.
Obdulio “Lulu” Gutierrez
Grounds Crew
Obdulio is also from Honduras and has been in the United States for over 15 years. His experience includes also working strictly in agriculture, then has come here to work solely in landscaping. Obdulio loves it very much, and has consistently made changes in lifestyle just to keep working in landscaping. He has worked for a few of the larger landscaping companies, and a couple of smaller ones like Avanza Landscaping.
Gilberto Gutiérrez
Landscape Technician
Gilbert is part of the family. He has been doing landscaping since 2005. Back home he loves taking care of his farm with cows, chickens, and horses. With Avanza he just goes by the name of “Tio”.
Isaias Ramirez
Landscape Technician
Isaias is one of our hardest working guys. He is always eager to learn and loves working outside. Family means the world to us at Avanza, and Isaias dedicates all his free time to his family.
Steven Ocon
Foreman
Steven is one of our youngest foremen, but he’s more than earned the position. He is consistently scoring highest in our trainings, takes responsibility very seriously, and is always willing to go the extra mile.
Connie Freeman
Growth Partner
What can’t be said about Connie? She is the matriarch of the family and is the one who said we should name the company “Avanza”, which means to “go forward” or “improve”. Connie does not like to be in the office, so you’re likely to find her out helping with our lawn health program or at networking events.

Victoria joins Avanza after being in the corporate world for the majority of her career; however, she is happiest when she’s helping transform landscapes into masterpieces.

Sean K.It was very easy to schedule an appointment for the company’s owner to come out and look at the job. I received a proposal within a couple of days, and they offered me a time frame I could work with. Since I was not available on the day the work was done, they sent me pictures, and waited for the remaining payment until I was able to check it out in person. They did a great job pulling the huge weeds and bamboo, cutting some tree branches, pruning the bushes, uncovering some steps that had gotten covered with dirt, laying new mulch, laying rocks on the path, and doing general cleanup. I got my beautiful yard back! I highly recommend Avanza Landscaping, and plan to have them come back next time I need some work done.
